Is 3 months to a new body and lifestyle for real?

This is such an important message that everyone needs to hear, and understand clearly. 

The journey towards regaining your fitness, body and lifestyle is exactly that, a journey. It is not and never will be an overnight thing.

Companies in the pursuit of profit have tainted our industry with “Get Ripped Quick” campaigns, when in fact, regaining your body, fitness and lifestyle is a process that needs to be carefully followed with consistency and persistence, even when the going gets tough.

There are a whole stack of training programs on the market at the moment, that offer unbelievable results with little to no effort required from your side. Well, let me be honest with you, the results for 99% of us are not only unbelievable but also unachievable. These training programs exploit the 1% of the population whose bodies react quickly to certain types of stimulus and flood their marketing campaigns with pictures of their progress, stirring hope in you to achieve the same results, which in reality might not happen with such ease. And when you don’t get the results in the same time, you get despondent, lose hope and quit

Make sure that you understand that results aren’t going to happen overnight. Some food for thought, if it took your 10+ years to lose contact and get to where you are today, do you honestly believe that it will take you 3 months to reverse the negative effects of the 10+ years of neglect?

So, if you want the “secret formula”, here it is… Start moving, exercise at least 5 days a week for at least an hour. Ensure that the exercise that you choose, gets your heart rate up and gets your body moving. Coupled with that, make sure that you are following a calorie controlled eating plan that ensures that you stay in a calorie deficit every day. What is calorie deficit you say? It’s quite simple, make sure that the calories you are consuming every day are less that the calories you are burning up. But, there are 10 basic things that should work for most of us

1. Avoid processed foods, eat whole foods
2. Avoid refined carbohydrates (SUGARS)
3. Get your carbs from vegetables and not breads and pastas
4. Keep your carbs low, 20g-50g a day.
5. Ladies, avoid wheat (Gluten) at all costs
6. Up your good fats and proteins
7. Keep your alcohol consumption low
8. Avoid carbonated drinks and processed fruit juices
9. Portion size
10. Drink lots of water
